Harwich and Dovercourt High School is a secondary school and sixth form with academy status, located in Harwich in the English county of Essex.〔http://www.hdhs.org.uk/〕 It was named the Sir Anthony Deane School until 1974,〔http://www.harwichanddovercourt.co.uk/the-schools/〕 and was then known as the Harwich School. The school faced controversy in 2006 when parents campaigned to remove existing Headteacher, Jackie Froggart, over concerns regarding falling standards. She was succeeded by Esther Bauman, until 2007 when Nigel Mountford was appointed Headteacher, and relaunched the school some years later as Harwich and Dovercourt High School. 〔http://www.harwichandmanningtreestandard.co.uk/news/9221246.High_school_back_with_fresh_look/〕 Following a period of ill health, Nigel Mountford retired and was succeeded by the current Headteacher Robert Garrett. The school was converted to academy status in August 2012, and had been a foundation school administered by Essex County Council. The school continues to coordinate with Essex County Council for admissions. ==See also==
